75, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 19, 2008, at a local hospital.

Sonny was born on May 6, 1933 to Hugh and Mamie Brazil in Combes, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Brazil whom he was happily married to for over 35 years.

He is survived by two children Peggy (Bruce) Gusler and Linda (Doug) Sarant; a sister Ene Reese of Illinois; and three grandchildren Connor, Maegan and Delaney.

Sonny was a beloved Ag Teacher at San Benito High School for many years, revered by all of his students and fellow faculty. Sonny graduated from Texas A & I where he ran track for the Javelinas. Sonny could absolutely fly down the track. After college he continued utilizing his athleticism by playing softball and baseball. He also took up golf where he had one of the most unorthodox swings you will ever see. Yet, he always seemed to best his playing partners. Sonny was Sonny, and was always there for everyone who needed him. He will be missed and will always be in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held today from 1 PM till 7 PM at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel.

Church services will be held Monday, September 22, 2008, at 10 AM at First Presbyerian Church in San Benito.
Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Henry Thomae Funeral Home 701 N. Bowie San Benito. 399-9992.

How would you feel about your child joining the military?
It would mean job security in an uncertain economy
I would be proud of their patriotism
I would rather them go to college
It’s just too dangerous
I would support any decision they make
