Wedding Announcement
Miss Emily Louise den Boer and Mr. David Andrew Mackie were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Reverend Gabriel Ezeh. Scripture readings were given by Mark Mackie, Maria Mamaux, and Jonathan Mackie.
A reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston followed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David H. den Boer of Cypress, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey W. Taylor of Statesville, North Carolina and Mr. H.A. den Boer and the late Mrs. Patricia den Boer of Greensboro, North Carolina.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Kurt D. Mackie of Harlingen, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon L. Carmine of Harlingen, Texas and Mrs. Marian Mackie and the late Mr. Frank D. Mackie of Flower Mound, Texas.
Attending the bride as Maid of Honor was Christina Ruggiero. Her bridesmaids were Paige Veronie, Mary Mackie, Lauren LePori, Emily Krennerich, and in loving memory Meghan Veronie. Members of the house party were Tessa Cervantes, Brytanie Piana, and Erin Wait.
Serving the groom as Best Man was Tyler Meals. His groomsmen were Jonathan Mackie, Stephen Mackie, Michael Haas, Matthew Virnau, and Matthew Koeneke. The ushers were Steven Blackmon, Mark Caldwell, William Essary, Kyle Grant, Blake Virgilio, and Wade Whitmore.
The flower girl was Lauren Parrott and serving as ring bearer was Lance Pizzi.
The bride is a graduate of Cy-Fair High School in Cypress. She graduated with honors from Texas A&M University at College Station with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and is attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
The groom is a graduate of the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University in College Station. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He is in marketing and sales with the Beldon Company in San Antonio.
Following the honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will reside in San Antonio.
