Carlson-Dickerson Engagement

Barry and Linda Dickerson of Weslaco, are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Dustin Wade Dickerson, to Ashley M. Carlson.

Ashley is the daughter of Grady and Barbara Carlson, of Vienna, Virginia.

The groom-elect's grandparents are Jesse and Louella Russell, and Utah and Thelma Dickerson, all of Weslaco. The bride-elect's grandmother is Charlotte Carlson of Alexandria, Virginia.

Ashley is a 2001 graduate of Marshall High School in Virginia and a 2005 graduate of Duke University. After graduation, Ashley taught middle school in Weslaco through the Teach For America program. Ashley received her master's degree in Public Health at Harvard University in 2009. She is currently employed as the Wellness Coordinator for IDEA Public Schools.

Dustin is a 2004 graduate of Weslaco High School and attended Blinn College in Bryan, Texas and TSTC in Harlingen, Texas. Dustin is associated with the family agricultural business in the Mid-Valley.

The couple will be married on October 23, 2009 in Vienna, Virginia.
