Police sting rounds up 3 more women on prostitution charges

HARLINGEN - Police have arrested three more women on charges of prostitution in an ongoing undercover sting operation.

The three were arrested Thursday, a Harlingen Police Department spokesman said.

Six other women were arrested on prostitution charges during a 48-hour period from Tuesday night to early Thursday morning in the area of Washington Avenue and 1st Street.

The charges are a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and/or a $2,000 fine.
