Five face sex charges after strip club sting

McALLEN — Investigations at two strip clubs last week resulted in the arrests of five exotic dancers accused of performing lewd acts and soliciting sex for money, police said.
Pharr police with agents from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission worked undercover at Xoticas, 4207 N. Cage Blvd., Pharr, on Thursday, with a second undercover investigation on Friday at Tex-Mex Gentleman’s Club, 2017 W. Owassa Road, Edinburgh.
Agents arrested three dancers accused of prostitution and lewd acts.
According to a criminal complaint, Gladys “Audrey” Portillo Hernandez, 29, was arrested on a public lewdness charge after she allegedly grabbed an undercover agent’s genitals through his pants and gratified herself during a $20 private dance.
Two other women were arrested on charges of soliciting sex for money.
Cynthia Ann Ramirez, 31, offered to have sex with an undercover officer for $165, a criminal complaint states.
Nicole “Brooklyn” Shibenski, 23, sat with an agent after he bought her a tequila shot and a beer, a complaint states. Shibenski allegedly offered to have sex with the undercover officer for $500, but later reduced the price to $250.
Friday’s investigation netted two more arrests on sex charges.
Mayra Alejandra De Leon, 27, placed an undercover TABC agent’s hand inside her genital area, a complaint states. She also asked the officer if he wanted to have sex for $200, the complaint states.
Ruth Galeana, 34, placed an undercover agent’s hand inside her genital area, as well, a criminal complaint states.
De Leon, Galeana and Hernandez all were formally charged with public lewdness, a class A misdemeanor.
De Leon, Ramirez and Shibenski were formally charged with prostitution, a class B misdemeanor.
Shibenski, of San Benito, was released Friday from the Hidalgo County Jail on a $2,000 bond. Ramirez, of San Juan, was released Friday on a $2,000 bond.
De Leon, of McAllen, remained in jail late Monday on a $10,000 bond. Galeana, of Alton, remained in jail on a $5,000 bond. Hernandez, of McAllen, remained in jail on a $5,000 bond.
Public lewdness is a class A misdemeanor, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $4,000 fine. Prostitution is a class B misdemeanor that has a maximum sentence of 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
