What happens after death — Comments 1
Throughout this series I have received many comments from readers as to what they believe. The comments were both, positive and negative.
Some readers shared their opinions and beliefs by saying things against me, not by destroying the arguments that were presented. One reader wrote “First of all, I am appalled by your article ... Not only are you being hypocritical by denouncing other religions, you also go on to make your own assumptions of other people. Who are you to judge?...You are like every other person who thumps the Bible in the name of God ... you base your preaching’s on a book that you have no idea who wrote it ... it could have been delusional people or very creative writers ... I think religion is for hypocrites. You do not write the truth of God ... Hell is really here on Earth... and people rest when they die and they are forgiven for their sins ... I have read the Bible from cover to cover ... I believe in GOD Almighty ... I have God by my side ...”
As you can tell, this reader does not know what he believes. He states that we who thump the Bible are basing our preaching on a book that we have no idea who wrote it. The reader gives his opinion as to hell by saying that hell is really here on earth. Oh really? According to whom? Also, after condemning the Bible and stating that it was written by delusional people, the reader states that he has read the Bible from cover to cover and that he believes in GOD Almighty. Doesn’t that sound like a major contradiction in terms?
If the reader does not believe that the Bible is the Word of God, why read it? And, what GOD Almighty does he believe in if not the God of the Bible? Apparently this reader is forming his own truth as he goes on day by day because of the fact that he does not believe in what the Bible says.
To this reader and to the rest who share in his uncertain faith I say the following. God’s truth cannot be changed just because you fail to believe it. God who is in heaven will not form His truth according to what you believe truth to be. God’s truth exists whether you believe it or not. And God will continue to be, even though you might disbelieve in His existence.
Also, just because you believe what you believe to be true does not make it true in any sense does it? If it did then you would be God wouldn’t you? But because you are not God but a mere sinful person, your logic is subject to error isn’t it? Yes it is. And so since you are an imperfect being as I am, do you really want to base your eternal destiny in what you believe truth to be or in what people say? Shouldn’t you base your belief in the Bible which is God’s infallible Word which has been proven to be true throughout history?
Also, why don’t you believe in the Bible? Have you spend long hours, days, months, and years as many pastors, scholars and theologians have in studying the contents of the Bible through history and archeology to prove or see if the Bible is true or not? I don’t believe you have.
You are ignorantly stating your own opinion, aren’t you? Before you begin to doubt and speak against God and His holy Word, why don’t you study it first. Who has given unfair judgment here? Not me!
