SANTA ROSA, TX.— Tomas Costilla, Sr.
Comments 0 | Recommend 078, of Santa Rosa, Texas went to be with the Lord, September 4, 2009 at Harlingen Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Tomas was born on March 7, 1931 to Julian Costilla and Angela Azua.
He was preceeded in death by his daughter Gloria Martinez, and son Ysidoro (Ezy) Costilla.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Fransica Costilla, his 7 children: Irma (Zeke) Mercado, Tomas (Herminia) Costilla, Jr., Julian (Delia) Costilla, Efrain (Letty) Costilla, Danny (Sylvia) Costilla, Dalia Ramos, Sergio Costilla, 30 grandkids, 40 great-grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving him is his sister Petra Flores of Santa Rosa.
Tomas was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Santa Rosa and was a strong believer in his faith. Tomas was a hard working man, he enjoyed working in his garden. He led a full active life and was dedicated to his family.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 1 PM to 9 PM at Trinity Funeral Home with a rosary to be prayed at 7 PM.
The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Monday, September 7, 2009 at 9:30 AM for a 10 AM mass of christian burial at St. Mary Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.
Interment will follow to Santo Nombre Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be grandsons: Ruben Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Zeke Mercado III, Mark Mercado, Harvey Costilla, Michael Costilla.
Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Mercado, Tommy Costilla, Eric Costilla, David Costilla, Derek Costilla, Danny Costilla, Jr., Christopher Ramos, and Danilo Costilla.
The Costilla family would like to thank Dr. Levine and Staff, the Dialysis Unit and Staff, and Harlingen Medical Center.
Tomas Costilla will greatly be missed, “Dad we know you weren’t a Cowboy fan, but yet you never missed one of their games.”
Arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 E. Harrison Ave. Harlingen, Tx.
