EDINBURG, TX. - Frank R. Hausenfluck Sr.
Comments 0 | Recommend 083, born Jan.3, 1925 in McAllen and died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Mission Regional Medical Center after living the last 3 years in the Bridges Alzheimer Home in Mission.
Mr. Hausenfluck, along with Donald D. Hopper, co-founded D & F Industries Inc. formerly H & H Electric Co. in 1953; Mr. Hausenfluck's three sons and many dedicated employees currently operate the major commercial Electrical and HVAC business.
He was a founder of the local chapter of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), which is an electrical trade association with an apprenticeship training school and program for future electricians.
Mr. Hausenfluck was a veteran of WWII and The Korean Conflict, having served in the US Marine Corps. He was a member of American Legion Post #101 in Pharr. Mr. Hausenfluck was a Deacon and an Elder of the 1st Christian Church in Edinburg for many years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Ellie Mozelle (Ballew) Hausenfluck in Nov, 1995, by a brother R.C. "Bud", and by 2 sisters, Annie and Dorothy.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Hausenfluck of Edinburg; 3 Sons: Frank (Maribel) Hausenfluck Jr, Kenny (Mary) Hausenfluck, and Randy (Gretchen) Hausenfluck, all of McAllen; 7 Grandchildren: Frank (Denise) III, McAllen; Chad, McAllen; Brandon (Sarah), Austin; Russell, McAllen; K.D., Austin; Amber, Austin; Ashley of McAllen; 7 Great Grandchildren: Trenton, Makenzie, Trevor, Caleigh, Jaycee, Skylar, and Alazaya; 1 Brother: J.D. (Yvonne) Hausenfluck, Harlingen; 1 Sister: Wanda Stewart, Bandera, TX; 5 Sisters In Law: Jean Prewitt, McAllen; Wanda Ballew, Edinburg; Joyce Hays, Louisiana; Paula (Rick) Smith, Corpus Christi; Mary Ruth (Bob) McFaddin, Oklahoma; and survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, June 27, at The 1st Christian Church 410 West University in Edinburg, with Dr. Samuel Simon officiating and assisted by Jesus Rodriguez. Interment will follow, with military honors provided by American Legion Post #101, at Valley Memorial Gardens.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose H. Garcia, Pharr; Mike Dennis, McAllen; Juan Dimas, Jr, Edinburg; and all current and former employees of D & F Industries.
