HARLINGEN, TX.— Georgene (Gene) Schuessler Dahm
Georgene (Gene) – born to Arthur J. Schuessler and Emma M. Reuther on June 13, 1915, in Belleville Illinois, passed away in Harlingen, Texas on August 27. Present were 2 children, a grandson, and 3 great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Cornelius G. Dahm and her eldest son and daughter-in-law, David and Jacqueline Dahm.
She is survived by three remaining children, daughter and son-in-law Martha and Carl Koestner of Albuquer-que, New Mexico, sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Charlotte Dahm of Harlingen, Texas, Jonathan and Mary Dahm of Austin, Texas, thirteen grand-children, and eight great-grandchildren.
Georgene lived in Dallas from 1939-2009. She was a member of Christ the King Church, the Dallas Petroleum Club, Emanon, Palladian Club, and the Galleria Walking Society. She was a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, achieving the rank of Lady Grand Cross. She served as president of the Jesuit Mothers Club, Christ the King Altar Society, Dallas Geological and Geophysical Auxiliary, St. Paul Hospital Auxiliary, Palladian Club, and Geoflora Garden Club.
The Dahm family expresses their sincerest gratitude to Minnie Duarte and her assistants at On-Time Caregivers for the loving and untiring care they surrounded our dear Mother with in her last year.
Memorials may be made to the Brady Center, 4009 Elm St., Dallas TX 75226, or the charity of your choice. Rosary at 6:30 PM followed by visitation with family at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 Northwest Highway, Dallas TX 75225 on Friday, September 3, 2010.
Funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Road, Dallas TX, 75225 at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 4, 2010.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Anthony R. Dahm, Matthew A. Koestner, Peter E. Koestner, Andrew L. Dahm, Christopher G. Dahm, and Jonathan C. Dahm, Jr.
