MOUNTAIN CITY, TX — Doris Hall Bobbitt
Comments 0 | Recommend 095, of Mountain City, TX, formerly of Port Isabel, TX, affectionately known as “Nana”, passed away in Wimberley, TX, on Wednesday, November 21, 2007. She was born in Bellnap, Kansas, on May 13, 1912, to Charles and Gertrude (Wolfe) Hall.
In 1932, Mrs. Bobbitt graduated from Cedar Vale High School in Kansas. She married Floyd F. Bobbitt in Kansas on January 1, 1933 and before his passing in 1967, they were blessed with 34 years of marriage.
A charter member of First United Methodist Church in Port Isabel, TX, serving in all capacities, Mrs. Bobbitt was well known for her cooking skills and hospitality. She played bridge and enjoyed other card games. “Nana” will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kay Darlene Bobbitt Moses (2000); four sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Daniel) Stelly of Aransas Pass, TX; grandchildren, Daniel Stelly, Jr. and Vickie Jones; great-grandchildren, Jeanifer Chambers, Jessica Nichols, Joshua Stelly and Aaron Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Clayton Stelly and Gage Nichols; her son, Charles F. Bobbitt (Patty) of Carrizo Springs, TX; grandchildren, Paul and Bret Glenn; great-grandchildren, Emma and Mia Glenn and Preston Glenn; her daughter, Sandra (Rick) Tarr of Kyle, TX; grandchildren, Jason Tarr and Kelly Dahlen; great-grandchildren, Preston Tarr, Zachary, Zayne and Zander Dahlen; son-in-law, Cecil Moses (Dorothy) of Port Isabel, TX; granddaughter, Caryl Reed; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Ghrist and Jennifer Reed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., on Monday, November 26, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Port Isabel, TX, with the Reverends Harold Dailey, Steven Hyde and Sue Huntsman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
