Wedding Annoucement
Matthew Hansen, son of Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Hansen of Harlingen, Texas and Eva Prochazkova, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josef Prochazkovi of Liberec, Czech Republic were married February 8, 2008 at Saint Christopher's Church, built in 1686 near Liberec. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Adam Balcar of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren.
Alena Hlidkova of Jablonec Nad Nisou, a close friend of the bride, was the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Pavla Sopova and Petra Sternova of Liberec. Dr. Erik Hansen of Nashville, Tennessee, brother of the Groom, was the Best Man. The Children Attendants were Kai and Miller Hansen, nephew and niece of the Groom, and Ivanek and Matysek Tomasek, nephews of the Bride.
The Reception was held at the Ekocentrum, an ecological learning base operated by the Maid of Honor in the scenic countryside of northern Bohemia.
The Bride has a MA in Czech and English Language and Literature from the Technical University of Liberec. The Groom graduated from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois with a BA in Philosophy and Bible. The Bride and Groom are both employed as English teachers in China. After a honeymoon skiing in the Krkonose Mountains, Eva and Matt will return to China.
