HARLINGEN, TX. — Charles F. “Monte” Catterlin

entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 7, 2009. Born on September 19, 1928, He served in the U.S. Army prior to attending Univ. of So Ca (USC), and Hastings School of Law in San Francisco, CA. He married Doris Hamilton in 1966.and practiced law in California until he retired.

They then settled in Harlingen, TX. Monte was blessed to become acquainted with the staff and many friends at MMA where he spent approximately 10 years as a volunteer, assistant manager to the museum and as a substitute teacher.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Doris Catterlin.

He is survived by his loving family, son Donald Hamilton (Barbara) of Quincy, CA, a daughter Lisa J. Stewart (Louis) of Harlingen, TX, 5 grandchildren David, Jon, Chris Hamilton, of Arcata, CA. Kyle and Juliana Stewart, of Harlingen,TX. sister Elizabeth McEntire of Torrance, CA and numerous nephews, nieces, and loving friends.

Special thanks to the staff of VBMC Home Health, especially Mary who went out of her way to provide exceptional care.

As per request Monte’s final resting place will be on the island of Maui, Hawaii.
