HARLINGEN/WESLACO,TX.— Christina H. Mejia
Comments 0 | Recommend 088, passed away Saturday December 26, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Christina was born on June 6, 1921 in Mercedes, TX to Apolonio Cano Hinojosa and Alejandra Vela Hinojosa.
She was a business partner with her husband in the clothing business.
Christina is survived by her son, Ernesto (Rafaela) Mejia of Las Vagas; daughter, Velma (Francisco) Rivera of Harlingen; grandchildren, Diana (Cezar) Bueno, Christina Rivera, Yvette (Alfredo) Espericueta, Marcia (Carlos) Aguirre, Ernesto (Sara) Mejia, Laurie (Josh) Warren, Francisco (Rachel) Rivera III, and Angie (Michael) Hall; great grandchildren, Marcos and Marisa Bueno, Jacqueline Sanchez, Mikey Melendez, Alexis and Audrey Aguirre, Aaron Zecharih Espericueta, Xcaret and Emily Mejia, Apple Ray Rivera, Francisco Rivera IV, Lillian Mejia Villerreal, and Hunter Alan Hall; brother, Roberto Vela (Emma) Hinojosa of San Antonio; sisters, Juanita Hinojosa (Lupe) Garcia of Weslaco, and Delia Hinojosa (Rogelio) Munoz of Dallas; sister-in-law, Anita (Baldomero) Hinojosa; also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Apolonio Cano Hinojosa and Alejandra Vela Hinojosa; husband, Severo Mejia Sr. in 1986; sons, Severo Mejia Jr. in 2009 and Robert Mejia in 1988; brother, Baldomero Hinojosa in 1997; sister, Clemencia Hernandez in 2008; and younger brothers and sisters.
Visitation hours will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in Heavenly
Grace Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Ark Catholic Church in Weslaco. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
Pallbearers will be Francisco Rivera III, Ernesto Domingo Mejia, Aaron Ernesto Espericueta, Carlos Aguirre, Rick Hinojosa, Jose Garcia, and Eric Garcia.
Funeral services are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory.
