Our lives can be a reflection of God
A man once told his minister, “When I was first searching for Truth, a long time ago, I used to call into some of the TV evangelists’ television shows. I would order a blessed item such as a crystal cross. I sent for a prayer cloth which had been prayed over and was special. I never found God in any object outside of myself. The only place I ever found God was when I searched inside in prayer. I closed my eyes and went to God in prayer, in total faith and commitment, from my human part to my spiritual part. Then, I found God and my life became Holy ground.”
We can all find God, too.
The Bible says we are made in the image of God. Do you know what that means? It means our lives can be reflections of God. We can be models of God. We can be pictures and illustrations of God, if we choose to be. We can become that picture in only one way, by doing what Jesus said to do, allowing God to come through us as He came through Jesus. If we do this, when people look at us, they will see goodness because we are so infilled with God.
Often, we forget. When we are facing a difficulty, when we have something very serious in our life, we forget about God in that moment, and go to our human self. We say, “Woe is me.” We pace back and forth and try to find our answer, but it is so hard.
At these times when we forget the connection to God, it is not a reason to put ourselves down or to punish ourselves. We need to remember, to know again, fully and completely, that we are connected with God. Subconsciously, we already know that we are connected to God, but we forget because, in human mind, we cut ourselves off from God. When we do, we believe in impossibilities, defeat, and failure. Our visions for the future, however, depend on
our ability to remember our connectedness with God.
“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish Thou the works of our hands upon us.” Psalms 90:17In other words, may our work be the work of God, working through us.
