Carroll Lloyd Schwarz
WESLACO, TX.— Carroll Lloyd Schwarz, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 in Weslaco. He was born May 6, 1929 in his family’s original home, which was originally the sugar plantation headquarters in Mercedes.
Upon graduating from Mercedes High School in 1948, Carroll Lloyd proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. He was the owner/operator of Schwarz Quality Eggs until 1973. His passion was farming and after many years, retired from the farm operations in 2001. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Weslaco and Sunday School.
Carroll Lloyd was loved by many people and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Joannie Bianchini Schwarz; his children, Janet (Ron) Schwarz of Roanoke, TX, Elizabeth “Cricket” (Mike) England of Mercedes and James (Cindy) Schwarz of Conway, AR; his grandchildren, Nathaniel (Helena) Echols, Benton England, Cole England, Matthew Schwarz, Timothy Schwarz and Hadassah Schwarz; one great grandchild on the way; and step-sons, Dylan Bianchini and Gareth Bianchini.
Also surviving are his brothers, Christian William (Mary Joyce) Schwarz Jr. of Tampa, FL, Elwood (Sheila) Schwarz of Santa Rosa, Charles (Pat) Schwarz of Mercedes and August (Joan) Schwarz of Hamilton, CO; brother-in-law, James Triplitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm with family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10am at First Baptist Church in Weslaco Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dr. Steve Parker, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Weslaco, assisted by the Rev. Chris O’Loughlin, Pastor of Cowboy Church of Mercedes. Interment will follow at Ebony Grove Cemetery in Mercedes. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post #7473 of Elsa.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nathaniel Echols, Benton England, Cole England, Matthew Schwarz, Timothy Schwarz and Ruben Hernandez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Bianchini, Gareth Bianchini, Jack Drawe, Buddy Ross, Robert Manning and Charlie Miers.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
