What happens after death — Part IV
Throughout the history of man there has been many that have mocked religion in many ways refusing even to believe that there is a God up in the heavens that will one day judge sinful man. They have had such belief because their much learning and much “wisdom” that they have supposedly attained has not allowed them to stoop down to such levels. Even today there are many who have followed that type of mindset and refuse to believe in the existence of God because to them the belief in God is the made up idea of religionists that like to take man captive through their religious beliefs. But man comes and goes. Their much learning and foolish wisdom will not keep them from dying. God said, “...I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” (1 Corinthians 1:19-21).
Where is Plato and Aristotle if they were so wise and studied much philosophy? Did that philosophy keep them from dying? Did they figure out life? If they did why did they die? The Bible in Psalms 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God!...” And so it is today as
well. Because of their much learning many are not able to come to the knowledge of truth.
Their great positions and their much knowledge and education is keeping them from knowing the truth of God. And so religious man and mockers alike will come and go. But who is he that wins? The one who dies with the most toys? No! Is not he the one that dies and goes to heaven? Oh but wait, I forgot that you don’t believe in heaven and in a God. So have you figured out life then? If so, then why don’t you share it with the world to keep man from dying? What hope do you have apart from this life? Nothing I believe. If religion and religionist must die because they are keeping man from advancing, then who is going to build the hospitals and help the poor and needy, atheists? I don’t think so! Next time you’re sick don’t go to your local hospital because it was built by religionists.
So you might believe in the advancement of man but I’m sorry to tell you that man is wicked to the fullest sense and man is going to die one day and will be judged by God if man fails to repent from his sins and fails to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Acts 17:30-31). And that is what is going to take place, regardless you believe it or not! It is a fact! Your disbelief will not change the truth of God.
So what happens after death? Well, the Bible says that man without Jesus is doomed. Jesus said, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:17). Also, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).
