March 2, 1931 – December 19, 2009
In loving memory of Byron Chancellor Holtry, 78, who returned home to our heavenly Father on Saturday, December 19,2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry, and daughter, Vicki.

He is survived by his son, Brett and wife Elizabeth; his son Eric and wife Katherine; four grand-children, and his sister and brother-in law, Joan and Carl Morris.

Byron was born on March 2, 1931 in Douglas, Arizona to Paul J. and Margaret C. Holtry. He was raised in Harlingen, TX, where he attended high school. Byron proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, later graduating from The University of Texas, at Austin, with a degree in Engineering. He raised his family in Garland, TX, and retired as Plant Manager of Kent Industries. Byron will be missed as a well-respected and loving father, friend and sibling, as well as by all those he
touched as a track and field and soccer coach. We know he is in a better place in the presence of our Lord.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 23rd at Hopewell Cemetery in Latch, TX at 2:00 PM with Bro. Pete Dugger officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, at www.Alz.org.
