If I could be famous for a day, I would be Jimi Hendrix, when he was alive obviously. He just seemed like he had a lot of fun...obviously a little too much.

- He was born in September, 1946 and died in November, 1991 of pneumonia resulting from AIDS.
Freddy Mercury was the lead singer for the rock band Queen which was formed in 1971. He is most remembered for his flamboyant stage presence, his unparalleled four octave vocal range, and of course, his amazing mustache. Freddie is arguably the best vocalist in the history of music. His amazing vocal ability isn’t the only thing that made him a legend; he was also a pianist and songwriter. He wrote 10 out of 17 songs Queen’s greatest hits album and played piano on many of them as well.
One of the things that I admire about him the most is his spirit. He always wanted to give his fans the best content he possible could, and for the people that went to see him live, he made sure that he gave them a show that they would never forget. Even as he was dying he was still making music. When he recorded the vocals for “The Show Must Go On” he was so sick that he could barely stand. Guitarist, Brian May recalls saying to him “Fred, I don’t know if this is going to be possible to sing” to which Mercury responded that he would do it, went into the studio, and destroyed it. If you’ve ever heard the operatic masterpiece that is “The Show Must Go On” then you know how hard that song would be to sing. He did that as he was dying.
Freddie Mercury is definitely one of the biggest inspirations in music and is someone that anyone should want to be like. I think that he is someone that youth should look up to (instead of these modern, no-talent, auto-tuned celebrities), because he’s different and embraces that and makes it work in his advantage

The reason I chose Queen Latifa is because she opened the world not only to large women but young adolescents. Latifa started a lawsuit on discrimination on weight and race. Her case was heard and she won the lawsuit. She encouraged women to do the same.
