HARLINGEN,TX. - Alfredo Alfonso Ortiz
51, entered into rest on April 8, 2008, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 10, 1957 in Wyndotte, Michigan to Pedro and Juanita Ortiz. He then married Sylvia Mancilla Ortiz on August 12, 1974.
God let him be a messenger of happiness, a smile, a note, and a phone call to brighten everyone's way. The hours of life went swiftly.
There wasn't enough time to wait. He wanted to spread some happiness, before it was too late.
Alfredo was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Ortiz Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia M. Ortiz; three children, Christina Ortiz, of Dallas, Texas; Ronnie L. (Sara) Ortiz and Cilvia Alanna Ortiz; three godchildren Velma Robledo; Andrew Nicholas Betancourt and Carly Gonzalez all of Harlingen, Texas; his mother Juanita M. Ortiz, his sister, Marie Elvira (Justo) Delgado; brother Pedro Ortiz Jr., brother, Jose R. Ortiz also of Harlingen, Texas and Jorge (Gloria) Acosta of Aransas Pass, Texas and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie L. Ortiz, Pedro Ortiz Jr., Andrew Nicholas Betan-court, Ramiro Carmona, Joe Lopez, and Lee Salinas. Honorary pallbearer will be Jorge Acosta.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel, Cemeteries, Mausoleums and a Dignity Memorial Provider, 2906 S. Expressway 77/83 Harlingen, TX 78550.
