OWENSBORO, KY. —Janice Alwes

88, of Owensboro, KY formerly of Rancho Viejo, TX, passed away November 30, 2009 at her home. While in Rancho Viejo, she had served on the board of aldermen for San Viejo and was a member of San Benito United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Karla Alwes of Locke, NY, Susan Broughman-Lewis of Louisville, KY and Jill Keller of Owensboro, KY; her sons, Warner A. “Sandy” Broughman of Lexington, KY, Derek Alwes of Granville, Ohio, David Alwes of Shepherdsville, KY, and Kenny Alwes of Brentwood, TN; 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services are 12:00 noon Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 11:00 a.m. Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Friendship of Women in Brownsville.
