    LOS FRESNOS, TX.—Carl Edward (Bud) Parker

    79, passed away at his home in Bayview on December 7, 2009. He was born on December 31, 1929. to Ed and Elberta Parker of Rio Hondo.

    After serving in the Army. he returned to Rio Hondo. where he married Janel Walters on August 27, 1954. Bud’s greatest joys in life were his children, grandchildren and his horses.

    He was preceded in death by his son John Dallas Parker.

    He is survived by his wife, Janel Parker of Bayview, children Beverly (Mike) Meyn of Los Fresnos, Leslie (Sara) Parker of
    Harlingen, Linda (Tony) Swartz of Dickinson and Joyce (Jimmy) Lamon of Combes; three brothers Roy, Maurice and Gary (Butch), 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito.

    Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Rio Hondo Fire Department.

    Services have been entrusted to the care of Henry Thomae Funeral Home 701 N. Bowie San Benito. 399-9992.
