NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Harlingen Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) will consider the following items in public hearings Tuesday December 1, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Town Hall, 118 E. Tyler Avenue, Harlingen, Texas:

1. Request for renewal of a specific use permit (SUP) to allow a bar/lounge in a "general retail (GR)" zoning district, located at 1900 S. 77 Sunshine Strip. (Legal description of Lot 2, Block 1 Simpson Twins Motel Subdivision). Applicant: George Dawi c/o Baloos

2. Request for renewal of a specific use permit (SUP) to allow a bar/lounge in a "general retail (GR)" zoning district, located at 1802 S. 77 Sunshine Strip. (Legal description of Lot 1, Block 1 Simpson Twins Motel Subdivision). Applicant: Robert Smith c/o Rack Daddys

3. Request for a specific use permit (SUP) to allow a portable building to sell fireworks during the fireworks season located at 8101 W. Business Highway 83. (Legal description of

2. Request for a specific use permit (SUP) to allow a portable building to sell fireworks during the fireworks season located at 6901 W. Business Highway 83. (Legal description of .3775, Stuart Place Subdivision Survey 297). Applicant: Josue Cano c/o Valley Discount Fireworks

3. Request to rezone Lots 1-8, Treasure Lake Subdivision Mobile Home Park "B" and the adjacent west 15ft. to Lot 1, Treasure Lake Subdivision Mobile Park “B” from “not designated (N) zone to “residential mobile home (MH)” zone for property generally located at the 18700 Block of FM 675. Applicant: James Caris and City of Harlingen.

4. Request to rezone 5.0 acres out of Block 157, San Benito Land and Water Company Subdivision, from "not designated (N)" zone to "residential, single family (R-1)" zone for property generally located along FM 509 south of FM 800. Applicant: Abigail Morales

If approved by the P&Z Commission, the City Commission will hold public hearings to consider the items at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the City Hall Town Hall, 118 E. Tyler Avenue, Harlingen, Texas.
