    Adriana Resendez and Sergio Canales were united in marriage on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Un Ejercito para Cristo in Brownsville, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Bobby Langley. The reception was held at the Brownsville Event Center with Andrea Alvares as the event planner.

    The bride is the daughter of Jesus Resendez and Andrea Alvares both of Brownsville, Texas.

    The groom is the son of Peter and Eva Hoekzema of Harlingen, Texas and Lino and Rebecca Canales of Rio Grande City, Texas.

    Serving as the bride's Maid of Honor was her sister, Ariadna Resendez of Brownsville, Texas.

    Serving as the groom's best man was Patrick Garcia of McAllen, Texas.

    The bride graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville with Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is employed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

    The groom graduated from the University of Texas Pan American with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is employed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

    The couple will make their home in Harlingen, Texas.
