RIO HONDO, TX.—Eugene M. Mutz

He was born on October 25, 1946 in Raymondville, Texas to Leonard M. Mutz and Lucille Champagne Mutz.
Eugene is preceded in death by his father, Leonard M. Mutz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Felipa C. Mutz; daughter, Misty M. Mutz; son, Travis W. Mutz; mother, Lucille Mutz; sisters, Sandra Ivey, Norma Kelly, and Barbara Chappell; brothers, Harvey Mutz, and Gary Mutz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eugene grew up in Raymondville and moved to Donna in 1959, and then settled in Rio Hondo in 1972. He was very patriotic and proud of his country. He served two tours of duty in the United States Marines Corp during the Vietnam Era, where he received the Purple Heart. He was a faithful employee of Clore Land Leveling Company for 27 years. He loved fishing, cooking, and gardening. Eugene was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
Visitation will be held today, October 13, 2009 from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M. with the family receiving guests from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
Chapel services will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 2 P.M. at Trinity Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rolando Aguirre officiating.
Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park Cemetery in San Benito with full military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 205 VFW 2410.
Honored to be pallbearers will be Travis Mutz, Eric Bauer, Mike Mutz, Raul Yanez, Jesse Martinez, Michael Clore, Jeffrey Clore, and J.P. Rolando Muniz.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 East Harrison Avenue Harlingen, Texas 78550.
