SANTA ROSA, TX.— Maria Cristina Melendez

82, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a full life. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her grandchildren and son.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Eugenio Rios, her son, Ruben Rios, and her adopted son, Ruben Rios II.

She is survived by her son, Jose (Maria) Rios; six grandsons, Juan Jose (Janie) Rios, Carlos (Anabel) Rios, Jose (Jeobana) Rios, Jr., Ruben (Nita) Rios, Rafael (Tisha) Rios, Pedro (Irene) Rios; two granddaughters, Norma (Christopher) Moore, and Maria (Joel) Rios. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and many friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel in Harlingen, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, Texas. Interment will follow at Santa Nombre Cemetery in Santa Rosa, Texas.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel, Cemeteries, Mausoleums and a Dignity
Memorial Provider, 2906 S. Expressway 77/83, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
