RAYMONDVILLE, TX.—Maricela Solis

33, was granted her angel wings on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. She went peacefully after prayers said by her family. She was born on November 30, 1975 to Santiago and Sonia Solis in Raymondville,Texas.

She leaves behind her parents, Santiago and Sonia Solis: one sister, Venessa (Hilario) Gomez; one brother, Santiago Solis, Jr., and two nieces whom she adored Aislinn Celeste and Lilliana Rayn Gomez.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Alfonso and Leonor Villalobos paternal grandparents: Gregorio and Maria Solis and beloved cousin Peter Lopez.

Maricela became ill at the age of 7 years old, but she never faltered. She knew that in order to reach her goals she would have to work twice as hard. She graduated in the Top Ten Percent of her senior class in 1994 from Raymondvlle High School. She then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she graduated with a BBA in Business Administration from Texas A & M University in 1998. In 2002, she moved to Houston, Texas where she landed a job in human resources with a large oil rig company. After a few years, she moved back to Corpus Christi where she planned to further her education. But after falling ill in late 2007, she moved back home to be care for by her family.

Maricela touched many lives and will be remembered for her courage, strength, and above all her faith in God.
