PHARR, TX. — Linda Louise Watson
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Was born in Tempe, Arizona on November 12, 1958 and passed away suddenly at her home in Pharr, Texas on September 8, 2008. She was the oldest child of Paul and Ruth Watson. She had a younger brother James Paul Watson and a sister Cindy Janelle.
Linda's musical gifts enabled her to sing and play in various choirs and groups in high school and college in Keene, Texas. She moved to McAllen in the early eighties. She fell in love with the Valley and it became her home for the rest of her life. Her abilities in music and leadership again fitted her work with Arts in the Park and many such community events. She performed in venues such as Trinity Episcopal Church, AA Conferences, the Elvis Presley Graceland Center, White Sands in Port Isabel, and the three churches, which she helped to establish. Through her ministry in music, AA and the three churches she established she has touched and strengthened many lives in the Valley.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 210 W. Caffery Avenue in Pharr, Texas on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 1:00 PM.
Anyone wishing to honor Linda's memory with a music scholarship fund may send contributions to New Hope Congregational Church, 1327 E. Washington Ave. #187, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
