UTB/TSC to host Outdoor Expo
The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College’s South Texas Engineering, Math and Science Program will have the first UTB/TSC Outdoor Expo from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 30 on the Cardenas South Hall Lawn.
The free event for the campus community and residents will feature outdoor education, birding, plant identification, physics activities, kayaking on the Fort Brown Resaca, biking, kite building and other activities.
The S.T.E.M.S. Program began in 1989 and partners with area school districts to boost interest in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Many students that are part of the program in high school eventually join the university-level program as they select their majors.
