Engagement Announcement

    Julie Ann Vasquez and Simon Lira Jr., following a three-year engagement, will join hands in marriage on December 31, 2011. The bride is the daughter of Julio Vasquez Jr. and Norma Jean Vasquez. The groom is the son of Simon Lira Sr. and Maria L. Lira. Although the bride’s mother is no longer with us, she will be celebrating this special day with Julie and Simon in spirit.

    Julie and Simon were Junior High sweethearts and after reconnecting six and a half years ago, their love for each other has flourished into the beautiful relationship they have today.

    Julie and Simon are both Harlingen High School alumni, class of 2002. Julie is a graduate from The University of  the Incarnate Word she has a Bachelor’s degree in Government and International Affairs with a concentration in American Politics and plans to pursue a Law degree at the University of Houston. Simon has an Associate’s in Network Administration from Northwest Vista College and currently works for Interlex as an IT manager.

    The bride and groom currently reside in San Antonio, Texas and will be relocating to Houston, Texas following

the New Year and a honeymoon in Las Vegas.
