MERCEDES— Clarence “Sandy” Sandoz
Comments 0 | Recommend 079, left this world to eternal rest on November 20, 2009 at the Veteran’s Home in Mcallen, He had been in failing health due to a heart attack and severe stroke.
He was known to many as Sandy, born on December 28, 1929 in Anoka, Mn. to Clarence and Doyle Sandoz. He was a trucker for many years, came to the Valley in 1970 and never left. He was in the Army for four years and was a Korean War Veteran.
He was a resident of Los Fresnos for 29 years moving to Mercedes in August of 2005. He was an avid fisherman and was a lifetime member of the San Benito Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and a daughter.
Surviving is his companion Laura of Mercedes. two sons, three daughters and one sister all of Minnesota.
Chapel services are scheduled for Monday, November 30, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel 701 N. Bowie San Benito, with full Military Honors.
A special thanks to Alfredo Gonzales Texas State Veterans Home at McAllen for all their care for 17 months.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Henry Thomae Funeral Home in San Benito. 399-9992.
