Border Patrol seizes more than 4,000 pounds of pot

RIO GRANDE CITY - Border Patrol agents patrolling the Escobares area in Starr County confiscated 4,159 pounds of marijuana in a van, according to a press release.
The seizure happened on Feb. 19. when agents spotted a GM cargo van being loaded with what appeared to be narcotics. The agents approached the men, who then fled to Mexico.
The van and the drugs were taken by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
