Police search for jewelry store robber

McALLEN — Police are looking for a robber who stole a watch from a jewelry store at La Plaza Mall on Monday evening.

Surveillance video and a composite picture of the man show him wearing a white, button-down shirt and a knit cap. The suspect appears to have a thin to medium build.

The man approached a store employee and asked to see a watch, according to a news release from McAllen police. When the employee presented him with the item, he ran out of the store.

Police believe the man drove away in a black Mitsubishi Eclipse. He was last seen driving east toward 10th Street.
