U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen Station seized 50 pounds of cocaine on Tuesday.
The seizure occurred while agents were following footprints and spotted several people running south into a heavily wooded area. When the agents approached the area where they first saw the people, they found two bundles of cocaine.
The cocaine was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
