International bridge closed after car chase
Comments 0 | Recommend 0HIDALGO - The southbound lanes of the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge are closed after a man led authorities on a car chase.
Hidalgo Police Department was involved in a car chase with a man who stole a car that ended at the bridge.
The southbound lanes of the bridge were closed since about 4 a.m., bridge director George Ramon said. The northbound lanes of the bridge are operating as usual.
McAllen Police Department Sgt. Joel Morales said the event is not related to their search for Moises Gonzalez, 28.
Gonzalez abducted Maura Marroquin, 23, of Rio Grande City, at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon, police said. He later led them on a high-speed chase and was still at large early today.
