Eluid Garcia is a former city manager and interim city manager. When he worked for San Benito, his salary was $45,000 plus a $300 car allowance, city officials said.

Edward Gil de Rubio, a former Sullivan County, N.H., county manager earned $103,000, officials there said.

Victor C. Peña, a former interim city manager for Huntsville, had a salary of $103,012.78, Huntsville officials said.

K.M. Hubert, Balch Springs' former city manager, earned $84,133, the city's secretary said.

A total of 22 people have applied for the job left vacant in July by Victor Treviño, who worked here for seven years until the City Commission asked for his resignation.

The City Commission will meet today in a special meeting to canvass the applicants.
