Primera election set for May 10

PRIMERA - City voters will choose a mayor in the May 10 election in which Mayor David Osborne is challenged by Rudy Garza Jr.

Two aldermen will be chosen from three candidates: incumbents R. Dave Kusch and David R. Sanchez, and challenger David Serna.

Early voting will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays beginning April 28 through May 6 at City Hall, 22893 Stuart Place Road.

However, on April 29 and May 6, early voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall.

On May 10, election day, voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Wilson Elementary School, 16495 Primera Road.

In Combes, there are no contested seats for mayor or the Board of Aldermen. There will only be a ballot measure to increase the sales tax from 7.25 percent to 7.5 percent, City Secretary Aida Gutierrez said.

Elections in Palm Valley and Los Indios were canceled because there are no contested seats for mayor or the Board of Aldermen.

Indian Lake will hold its city election on Nov. 4.
