Texan dies in Louisiana crash

STARKS, La. — Louisiana State Police say a 35-year-old Texas man was killed when the vehicle he was a passenger in, ran off La. Highway 12 west of Starks and struck a tree.

The accident happen early this morning.

Killed was James M. Myers, of Orange. Troopers say Myers was not wearing a seatbelt.

Investigators say the driver and three other passengers in the vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Troopers say the driver, 20-year-old Elfego Lozano Jr., also of Orange, was booked with DWI, vehicular negligent injuring, vehicular homicide, no seatbelt, careless operation and open container.
