OPEN MIC: Original poetry, classic literature, random thoughts, jokes, life experiences will all be part of Open Mic Night in the Student Center starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. SUBSTITUTES: A 30-hour course required for substitute teachers in Harlingen public schools and recommended for substitute teachers in numerous districts will begin at 6 p.m. Monday. Register at the Continuing Education window of the Admissions Office in the Student Services Building, the corner of Loop 499 and Oak Street. The tuition for course EDTC 1002 is $90. SENSORS: The Machining Technology program and the Society of Plastic Engineers are sponsoring a free presentation about cavity sensors for industry professionals and students in the Service Support Center Conference Room on Tuesday. DEADLINES: The priority deadline for financial aid applications for fall semester 2008 is April 30. The final scholarship deadline for new and returning students is June 16. Financial aid applications are welcome after the deadlines.
