HARLINGEN - Firefighters Wednesday night were called to investigate an electrical fire at the Golden Palms Retirement & Health Center on Treasure Hills Boulevard.

Golden Palms Administrator Deborah Paolini said the fire occurred while the staff was cleaning the center's rehabilitation room but was extinguished promptly.

"It was just a small electrical fire," Paolini said Wednesday night. "It was immediately contained with very little damage. Now we're just blowing out the residual of the fire extinguisher before we (re-admit) the residents to their rooms."

Paolini said the Golden Palms' residents were evacuated quickly and no injuries were reported.

"Everyone is fine, safe and doing well," she said.
