Drive-by shooting sends four to the hospital
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LOPEZVILLE -- Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate a drive-by shooting here that sent four people -- including three teenagers -- to the hospital with minor injuries.
Four people -- all boys and men aged 14, 16, 17 and 28 -- were hit with shotgun fire that came from a green Kia four-door car shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday, said Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño.
The victims told deputies that the gunfire came from a passenger riding inside the vehicle.
Because the victims were hit with bird loads -- shotgun shells that fire a wide spray of fine lead powder -- their injuries were relatively minor and they have already been released from the hospital, Treviño said.
No suspects have been named in the deputies investigation, the sheriff said.
