Jury to begin deliberating Garza murder trial
Comments 0 | Recommend 0BROWNSVILLE - Closing arguments and jury deliberations will begin this afternoon the murder trial of Nestor Garza.
Garza, 41, is accused in August 2005 murder of Brownsville artist Alfredo Bustinza. Bustinza was stabbed 10 times while inside the Tucan Bar on 12th and Jackson Streets.
His body was dragged out of the bar and dumped on the sidewalk.
Prosecutors say that Garza participated in Bustinza's murder with co-defendant Arturo Rodriugez. Defense attorneys maintain that Rodriguez acted alone.
Rodriguez was found guilty of murder in 2006. In a video disposition played during Tuesday's trial, Rodriguez said he acted alone and denied any involvement by Garza.
Two other witnesses testified that they saw Garza stab Bustinza.
