Cameron County Indictments
BROWNSVILLE - A Raymondville woman has been indicted by a Cameron County grand jury on two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault in connection with a Sept. 6 accident near La Feria that resulted in the deaths of two of her family members and injuries to two other relatives, according to court documents.
Noelia Gaona, 36, is accused of causing the deaths of Gloria Sayas Gonzales, 42, and her daughter, Stephanie Gonzales, 21, as well as causing serious injuries to Valerie Gonzales, 15, in the indictment issued by a grand jury convened in 197th state District Court.
Yvette Gonzales, 5, and Oscar Gonzales, 38, were also injured in the accident, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman said at the time.
Gaona was allegedly driving a 2000 Jeep Wrangler on Farm-to-Market Road 2556 north of Tio Cano Road when she swerved to miss an animal, overcorrected and the Jeep rolled over, the Department of Public Safety said. The Jeep hit a ditch before it rolled over, the DPS said.
