HARLINGEN - Funeral services for a soldier from Harlingen who was killed in Iraq last week will held here Saturday.

The body of Army Spc. Eric Domingo Salinas, 26, is expected to arrive in Houston today before being taken to Harlingen.

Visitation will be Friday at Funeraria del Angel, 2906 S. Expressway 77/83 in Harlingen, from 1 to 9 p.m., a spokeswoman for the funeral home said. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen, followed by burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.

Salinas was killed Aug. 2 by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Baghdad, the Department of Defense said in a news release.

He was born in Harlingen and raised in Primera, his aunt, Gracie DeLeon of Houston, said.
