WEATHER ALERT: Storm dumping heavy rain in area

    Comments 0 | Recommend 0

HARLINGEN - A slow-moving thunderstorm is dumping heavy rain over northern Cameron County this afternoon. However, no weather watches or warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service.

Minor street flooding could occur in the Harlingen area and the western edges of the county, the weather service reported. The area could see 1 to 2 inches of rain this afternoon.

The storm is expected to dissipate by late afternoon or early evening, weather service forecaster Geoffrey Bogorad said.

Afternoon thunderstorms are forecast for the next couple of days, Bogorad said.
