RAYMONDVILLE - A Raymondville man found dead in his burned house early Tuesday died after he ran back into the home, maybe hoping to rescue his sister, authorities said.

An investigation found Ramiro Reyna, 50, may have run back into his home at First and Main streets to rescue a younger sister who he believed was in the burning house, Justice of the Peace Richard Solis said. Reyna may not have known that his sister had fled the fire, Solis said.

"She thinks that maybe he thought she was still inside," Solis said.

Reyna lived in the house with his sister, officials said.

Investigators ruled out foul play in the man's death, Solis said.

The cause of the fire remains under investi-gation, Fire Chief Frank Torres said.

"We're not ruling anything out," Torres said.

The blaze gutted the house after it caught fire about 4 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Firefighters found Reyna's body in the charred ruins.

    Authorities are awaiting autopsy results.
