No charges after accidental shooting in McAllen
McALLEN — No charges have been filed after an accidental shooting Sunday morning among suspected gang members.
A suspected Tri-City Bombers gang member encountered a rival group outside a house near the intersection of Norma Street and Ware Road, on the city's northwest side.
McAllen police investigator David Ertter said the suspected gang member shot his friend as they confronted and tried to intimidate a rival group about 3 a.m. Sunday.
"At present, it seems to be an accidental shooting," McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said.
The shooting victim remains in stable condition at an area hospital. Criminal charges are not expected in the case.
