Equipment problem at DFW delays flights

The Associated Press

DALLAS — Some flights were being delayed for up to an hour today because of an equipment outage at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The unspecified outage was also affecting arriving flights, according to a report from the FAA's Air Traffic Control System Command Center. The FAA Web site references the outage, but officials with the agency didn't immediately return phone calls.

Airport spokesman David Magana referred questions to the FAA. He said the airport hadn't had a chance to assess the ramifications of the outage.

``It was fairly brief, the outage, but I don't know how many minutes or anything,'' Magana said.
