Police mum on early-morning manhunt along Arroyo Colorado

HARLINGEN - Harlingen police and firefighters were conducting a manhunt along the Arroyo Colorado in the area of Expressway 77/83 and Rangerville Road during the early morning hours today.

Authorities used a helicopter and a boat to search the area, but by 3:30 a.m. had given up the search and were leaving the area.

A police spokesman would only say, "Yes, we were looking for somebody," but no further information was available at 8 a..m.

At 9 a.m., Harlingen Police Department Capt. Hector Leal said a report has to be prepared and approved for release before any information is available on the manhunt.
