Port Mansfield escapes serious Dolly damage
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PORT MANSFIELD -- Hurricane Dolly was kind to at least one Rio Grande Valley city -- the coastal fishing and resort town of Port Mansfield.
Despite Dolly making landfall just a short distance to the southeast at the mouth of the Arroyo Colorado, Port Mansfield's buildings appeared to have suffered little more than a few lost shingles and pieces of roofing. Trees and shrubs throughout the place were almost unharmed.
The worst damage observed by a Valley Morning Star reporting crew on Thursday was one smashed boat shed.
