Store vendor robbed near Donna

DONNA - A gas station vendor was robbed near here early this morning.

The vendor was at the Valero station at Valverde Road and U.S. Business 83 just west of Donna when a person allegedly displayed a weapon and demanded cash, said Supervisor Eddie Rodriguez of the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.

The vendor handed over $500 and her purse, Rodriguez said.

Deputies received the call about the aggravated robbery at 7:18 a.m.

No suspect information was immediately available.
